They're supposed to be, or else I haven't done a very good job of making them. How many do you want?

[ Pardon her, she is just blinking rapidly at him, rocking back a little on her heels. ]

They are! And our other roomies, but since you're here first, you get first pick.

[ There he goes— he flips the pancake again. It's not much longer until this one is cooked. ]

[ She has no idea. She could hop on the Internet very quickly and research what is the average amount of pancakes a single person should consume, and she's tempted, but maybe she should just learn that answer for herself. ]

When Sophia tells him how many she wants, he brightens up — that boyish charm sure is on full force this morning. ]

[ He goes ahead and plates the one he just finished cooking with another fluffy pancake. Soon after, he scoops up some more batter to start making another one. ]

Want anything with it? Strawberries? Whipped cream?

[ ... He is clearly some kind of Pancake Professional, so even though she can easily search for preferred methods of pancake munching, she will defer to his wisdom and knowledge here. Which is to say-- ]

What would you recommend?

I like to have it with a lot of fruits — any type of berry tastes really good with them, and whipped cream. Maple syrup is good too. It depends on what you're feeling.

[ He looks at the plate, contemplating his options. ]

Tell you what— I'll give you different toppings for each one.

[ Her final options: a) strawberry and chocolate sauce; b) mixed berries and whipped cream; and c) plain ol' maple syrup. They're all plated separately on cute little plates. He passes her a fork and knife. ]

[ She was right. This man is absolutely a professional (at pancakes, surely nothing else). ]

Woooow...

[ This is not sarcasm or humoring him, she is genuinely in awe at this tiny smorgasbord he just presented her with. ]

... Can I wait for you?

[ Not because she needs moral support or anything, but... everyone had seemed happier back in Japan when she'd seen them eating together. Maybe there's something to be said for that. ]

[ He's so lucky that Sophia seems easy to pleased, but he is pretty happy to see her light up at the sight of the pancakes. ]

You wanna eat together? Sure, we can do that.

[ Thankfully, making more pancakes aren't time-consuming. It won't be long until he has three pancakes of his own that he'll take to the dining area. ]

Need something to drink?

[ He's checking the fridge for drinks... ]

Ah, I'm okay. Thank you. I don't need beverages.

[ Well, she doesn't need food either, but. New experiences, she can't pass up pancakes. ]

[ Pancakes are difficult to pass up, especially when they're as cute as how Childe made them. He grabs a can of soda for himself before sitting down. Time to eat. ]
